Rehabilitation Services

Helping Patients Return Home, to Work & the Community

At the Carson Valley Health Rehabilitation Center, we strive to help our patients live up to their full potential. We provide professional rehabilitation services on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Our comprehensive outpatient rehab therapy program offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and/or speech therapy to patients of all ages.

Our individualized therapy programs are provided by a team of trained therapists who are skilled at rehabilitation for a number of diseases and injuries. For example, we help patients affected by stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, balance disorders, orthopedic conditions, and neurological disorders, among others. Our overarching goal for all rehabilitation services is to help patients achieve maximum independence and mobility.

Rehabilitation Services We Offer

Rehabilitation may involve a one or a combination of physical, occupational, or speech-language pathology therapies:

  • Physical therapy: This program helps patients restore or improve their strength and range of motion. You and your physical therapist will work on overcoming physical and functional limitations caused by an injury and/or illness. We also offer aquatic therapy in our physical therapy program. The physical therapy department is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but hours may vary to accommodate patient schedules.
  • Occupational therapy: Our skilled CVH occupational therapists provide services to directly address any functional limitations that prevent you from carrying out daily living activities. Occupational therapy can help you achieve personal goals based on your physician’s prescription. Our therapists will assist you in your home or work environments with adaptive techniques or devices so you can maintain or restore your independence.
  • Speech therapy: Our speech-language pathologists (SLPs), also called speech therapists, are highly qualified and licensed professionals who can help patients of all ages. These SLPs evaluate, treat and manage a wide range of disorders that may affect speech, voice, language, cognition, memory and swallowing. Our staff works with many specialties including neuroscience, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), radiology, oncology and general medicine.
  • Aquatic therapy: Our experienced aquatic staff provide personalized treatment to meet each individual’s own goals. Aquatic Rehabilitation is performed by a licensed Occupational/Physical Therapist, experienced in aquatic therapy. Water provides an excellent medium to conduct rehabilitation. The unique properties of buoyancy, support and accommodating resistance enhance therapeutic exercise and create a safe environment for progressive rehabilitation.

Our Rehabilitative Services Department, including Physical Therapy Services, is open from Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Contact us at 775.782.1519 for further information.
